BRUNSWICK, Maine – Taking on 53 scoring teams and over 380 runners, the Husson women placed 42nd overall at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Cross Country Championship, posting a team average time of 26:09. The Eagles earned the second-best place on the day out of all North Atlantic Conference (NAC) schools competing, just two spots behind the University of Maine-Farmington.
First-year Payton Goodwin continued her successes of pacing the Eagles at New England's, finishing with the best time of 24:54.0 to average a 6:40.7 mile in the 6K. Goodwin took 188th place to beat out nearly 200 other runners.
Finishing within 15 seconds of each other on the Bowdoin College course, senior Lindsey Joliat clocked in at 25:45.7 and first-year Norah Garvey hit 25:59.1. The next two Eagles to cross the finish line were first-year Destiny Anair at 26:48.3 and sophomore Isabelle Jackson with a time of 27:22.0 to help round out the scoring.
The Husson women's cross country team concludes their 2019 season at New England's as many of the Eagles prepare to switch over to indoor track & field for the winter.
