Women's Cross Country Takes Third at 9th Annual Fens Classic

BOSTON, Mass. - Leading all Eagles at the 9th Annual Fens Classic, first year Payton Goodwin made a big splash in her first collegiate race as she crossed the tape in the two mile run with a top-five time of 13:10 which was good enough for fourth place out of 52 total competitors.

Two fellow first years finished ahead of the Eagle convocation in 13th and 14th place just two strides apart. Devyn Veits sped in at the 13:56 minute mark and Norah Garvey hit 13:58.

Grabbing the last two scoring spots for Husson women's cross country at Emmanuel College was upper classman Julia Glisson with a time of 14:07 (16th) and yet another newcomer, Rosie Train with a time of 14:13 (17th).

Husson women's cross country returns to the course on Saturday, September 7th at the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Preview Meet hosted by Northern Vermont University-Lyndon.
