  • Husson Athletics Congratulates Frank Fazzino on his New Coaching Role

    BANGOR, Maine - After working as the throws coach and strength and conditioning coach for both the indoor and outdoor men's and women's track & field programs over the past two years, Frank Fazzino will be entering his third year at Husson University as the associate head coach for six programs. He will continue working primarily with the throwers in all four track & field programs, but Fazzino will also enter into a new role working with the men's and women's cross country teams as the associate head coach alongside head coach Kate Goupee.

  • Women’s Cross Country Battles Stormy Conditions at NCAA DIII Northeast Regional Championship

    BRUNSWICK, Maine - Battling against seven nationally ranked teams and 57 teams overall, the Husson women’s cross country team powered through the dismal weather to finish out their season strong in 50th place at the NCAA DIII Northeast Regional Championship.
  • Joliat, Glisson, Jackson, Dostal and Kashian Garner All-Conference Honors

    WATERVILLE, Maine - Husson junior Lindsey Joliat, junior Julia Glisson and freshmen Isabelle Jackson and Renee Dostal all garnered All-Conference honors by virtue of their top-15 finishes in the 2018  North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Women's Cross Country Championship, which was held at Troy Howard Middle School in Belfast, hosted by Maine Maritime Academy, on Sunday, October 28th. Freshman Erin Kashian garnered NAC All-Sportsmanship Team honors to round out the program's most All-Conference selections in six years.

    BELFAST, Maine –The Husson women’s cross country team posted their best finish at the 2018 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Women's Cross Country Championship on Sunday, October 28th since 2014, taking home second place. Husson finished just five points away from UMaine-Farmington capturing the title. 
  • Women's Cross Country Favored to Win 2018 NAC Championship

    WATERVILLE, Maine - Husson headlines the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's cross country prechampionship poll, as voted by the league's head coaches. The Eagles received five first-place votes and 60 points, followed very closely by UMaine-Farmington with the remaining three first-place votes and 59 points.

  • Women's Cross Country Take Home First at Thomas Invitational

    WATERVILLE, Maine – The Husson women won their second invite of the season, capturing the Thomas Invitational in 23 points with junior Lindsey Joliat and freshman Isabelle Jackson leading the way in the 5k. The top five Eagles that scored for Husson all ranked in the top-ten. 
  • Joliat and Bond Earn NAC Cross Country Weekly Awards

    WATERVILLE, Maine - Two cross country runners achieved North Atlantic Conference (NAC) weekly awards this past week after crossing borders to compete at the RSEQ AUS Interlock Meet in Canada. Lindsey Joliat earned Husson's first Runner of the Week award this season and Joel Bond captured Husson's first weekly award for men's cross country being named the Rookie of the Week.
  • Women's Cross Country Improves Times in Canada

    FREDERICTON, New Brunswick – Competing against two top-ten nationally ranked teams in Canada including 11 other schools, the Husson women’s cross country team came home with 12th place from 329 points after trekking to Canada for the annual RSEQ AUS Interlock Meet. Several returners made impressive improvements on their times from the previous year competing on the exact same course while as a team, the Eagles cut down over two minutes from their average 6k time from 30:09 to 27:55.

    BANGOR, Maine - Husson University head cross country and track & field coach Kate Goupee is pleased to announce the addition of Kerwin Whitney to her coaching staff. Whitney will serve as the assistant coach for the men’s & women’s cross country team and the sprints & jumps coach for the men’s & women’s indoor and outdoor track & field teams.
  • Women's Cross Country Captures 14th Place at Maine State Championship

     BRUNSWICK, Maine – Taking on several nationally ranked schools amongst the 18 schools that traveled to Bowdoin College to compete at the Maine State Championship, Husson women’s cross country took home 14th place with 440 points. This meet was the first time any of the freshmen had ever competed in a 6k while the upperclassmen have not competitively raced a 6k since the NCAA DIII Northeast Regional Championship last season.

    WATERVILLE, Maine - Achieving her first North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Runner of the Week award, junior Julia Glisson ran her heart out at the Mariner Invitational helping the Husson women's cross country team "take the cake" winning the meet. 
  • Women's Cross Country Takes the Cake Winning Mariner Invitational

    BELFAST, Maine – The Husson University women’s cross country team took the cake on Saturday afternoon at the Mariner Invitational, bringing home first place with three top-ten finishes for an overall 42 points. Coming in a close second, Husson edged out University of Maine-Farmington by one point (43 points) with an average team time of 22:44. The Eagles competed against four other teams. 
  • Women's Cross Country Takes Second at Keene State College Rust Buster

    KEENE, N.H. – The Husson freshmen set the tone for the season in their first collegiate race as the women’s cross country team competed at the Keene State College Rust Buster in Keene, N.H. Taking on 2 miles, the Eagles recorded four top-ten finishes to achieve 2nd place out of three teams at the event.

    BANGOR, Maine - Husson head coaches and players will hold their annual media day for all ten fall sports (Football, Field Hockey, Women's Tennis, Men's & Women's Cross Country, Men's & Women's Golf, Women's Volleyball and Men's & Women's Soccer) on Wednesday, August 29th, from 12-1 p.m. inside the D. Bruce MacGregor Sports Hall of Fame Room located in William P. Newman Athletic Facility.
