Women's Cross Country Finishes Season at NCAA DIII Northeast Regional Championship

GORHAM, Maine - The Husson women's cross country team closed out their 2017 season on Saturday after competing at the NCAA DIII Northeast Regional Championship hosted at the Gorham Country Club. With a total of 56 teams contending including 393 student-athletes, the women returned home with 51st place. Seven Eagles raced in the 6k on the brisk afternoon. This was the first time Husson ran a 6k in competition in over a month.

Taking the top three places as a team at the meet were MIT, Tufts, and Williams. Finishing the race in first with the fastest time was freshman Kaitlyn Mooney from the Coast Guard with a speedy time of 20:22.

Sophomore Lindsey Joliat continued her pattern of finishing first for the Eagles each meet this year, crossing the line with a time of 24:34 for 194th place.

Following in close to a minute behind her was senior Morgan Clifford recording a time of 25:55 for 287th. Freshman Jessica Dessert followed suit at 28:36 for 345th.

Crossing the finish line in a burst within a minute of each other was freshman Kelly Broe at 29:24, freshman Katherine Camire at 29:54, junior Madison Cole at 30:04, and senior Shannon Staples at 30:07.
