Women's Cross Country Earns 6th Place at Bowdoin Invitational

BRUNSWICK, Maine – After two weeks off, the Husson men's and women's cross country teams were back in action as they traveled to the annual Bowdoin Invitational on Saturday. Lindsey Joliat set the pace for the Eagles yet again, helping Husson finish 6th overall out of the eight teams that competed. Joliat walked away with a time of 25:40 for 28th, knocking off one minute and 18 seconds from her last time.

Morgan Clifford also stepped up her pace to cut off nearly a minute from her previous time, crossing in at 26:59 for 41st. Kelly Broe and Katherine Camire both impressively shaved off around three minutes from their time at the last meet as Broe finished in 29:05 for 55th and Camire at 29:11 for 58th.

Finishing one after another for 62nd and 63rd were Jessica Dessert and Madison Cole at 29:46 and 29:54. Taking 69th place at 31:02 was Shannon Staples.

Crossing the finish line in a flock were Kaitlin Prescott, Paige Rainford, and Amanda Marcus for 74th, 75th, and 76th with times of 32:15, 32:20, and 32:23.

Other Eagles who competed this weekend were Jessica Giffen notching a time of 35:31 for 83rd and Emma Murray with a respectable time of 41:24 for 87th.

Husson women's cross country will have two weeks to prepare for the Maine State Championship on Saturday, October 14th as they return back to Bowdoin College to compete for a 2:30 p.m. start.
