GORHAM, Maine - The Husson University women's volleyball team (4-18) battled the University of Southern Maine (10-10) on Tuesday night to a three-set loss, despite a very closely matched first set.
Southern Maine 3, Husson 0 (25-22, 25-10, 25-16)
The opening set saw both teams match runs until the Huskies snapped a 22-22 tie by winning three straight points to take the set. That would be the closest the Eagles would come to a victory, as Southern Maine overpowered Husson in the final two sets of the night.
Senior Mary Grace Power led the Eagles offense after recording a team-high nine kills and adding five digs in the effort. Classmate Hanna Hembrow dished out 20 assists in the match, while Adrienne Beatty finished the night with seven digs to lead the Eagles' defense.

The Eagles will have the long weekend off before hitting the road to take on the University of New England for a 6:30 p.m. match on Wednesday, October 16th.
