BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University women's volleyball team dropped the final two matches of their week long homestand as the University of Maine-Fort Kent Bengals took both matches by a final score of 3-0 on Wednesday night in Newman Gymnasium.
UMaine-Fort Kent 3, Husson 0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-22)
The Eagles remained within a few points of the Benglas throughout the entire night, but struggled to maintain more than a four-point lead.
UMaine-Fort Kent was set up by Beatriz Garrido as she dished out a team-high 20 assists. Rachel Nance led the Bengals with 14 digs as Heather Harness added 13 of her own. Luse Lumas led the offensive charge with eight kills.
The Eagles were led by senior captain Hanna Hembrow as she added a match-high 30 assists. Mary Grace Power led the Eagles offense with 12 kills and 11 digs. Serena Laro finished the match with a powerful kill percentage of .444.
UMaine-Fort Kent 3, Husson 0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-18)
Garrido continued to lead the Bengals offense as she chipped in 25 assists in the second match. Nance recorded a match-high nine kills while leading the team with 27 digs.
The Eagles will hit the road for a pair of matches on Saturday, September 14th as they take on Emmanuel College at 1 p.m. and Curry College at 3 p.m. in Milton, Mass.
