BANGOR, Maine – Committing to attend Husson University to play on the volleyball team, all the way from Eagle River, Alaska, Cheyenne Young will become an Eagle in the fall of 2019.
Young played volleyball all four years at Chugiak High School in Alaska where she made varsity her junior and senior years, rotating around as a setter, right side hitter, and defensive specialist. She gained even more experience on the court playing for two club teams, Alaska Volleyball Association and Midnight Sun Volleyball Club. Not only did volleyball keep her busy, but Young also competed on her high school basketball team earning team GPA awards in the Basketball Regional Tournament in three years of competition and two years of team GPA awards in the Volleyball Regional Tournament.
The Alaskan native plans to study Exercise Science at Husson with long-term goals of obtaining her graduate's degree on her way to becoming an Athletic Trainer.
