LEWISTON, Maine – Husson women's volleyball (5-16) concluded their road games for the season at Bates College (13-7), dropping the non-conference match to the Bobcats on Tuesday evening at Alumni Gym.
Bates 3 – Husson 0 (25-13, 25-11, 25-10)
Caelyn Sheil led Husson with 7 kills on 17 attempts to hit a .353 while also grabbing a speedy point from a service ace. Hanna Hembrow set up 11 kills while landing one ace and picking up seven digs. The libero of the night, Adrienne Beatty, had a team-high eight digs. Katelyn McKenzie achieved Husson's third ace of the match.
Taylor Stafford-Smith had 13 kills and no errors on 22 attempts, leading Bates with an impressive attack percentage of .591. Angel Echipue was also immensely helpful on the attack, finding the floor on nine kills. Two setters helped out the Bobcats throughout the three sets. Julia Panepinto tallied 23 assists and four aces in two sets of work while Brettney Fuller came on in the third set to tally 12 assists. Lauren Brough and Cassidy Martin both hit double digits in digs by the end of the match.
Husson is set to conclude their regular season with a pair of matches on their home court in Newman Gym on Saturday, October 27th as they host three other teams for four matches. The Eagles will open up the day facing UMaine-Presque Isle at 11 a.m. for the final North Atlantic Conference match of the regular season and then finish all volleyball action on Saturday versing UMaine-Fort Kent at 5 p.m. for their senior game.
