Women's Volleyball Comes up Short Against Colby, 3-0

BANGOR, Maine – In non-conference action, Colby College (5-4) finished off Husson University (1-12) in three sets, despite a point-to-point battle opening up each set on Tuesday evening at Newman Gymnasium. 

Colby 3 – Husson 0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-17)

The Husson underclassmen led the attack on Tuesday night with three freshmen tallying four kills apiece, including Serena Laro, Sophia Pagliarini, and Caelyn Sheil while Kayli Doten led all Eagles with five kills. Also finding their opponent's floor, Amber Lemay and Delaney Chisholm captured Husson's lone aces splitting four total. Several Eagles contributed in the digs category with Hembrow adding on not only eight digs, but also 18 assists. Kate Woods also pitched in eight digs while Adrienne Beatty racked up a team high of ten. 

Colby was led by Paige Hansenn in nearly every stat, accumulating a whopping 15 kills, four aces, and nine digs. Also standing out offensively for the Mules was Elizabeth Middlebrook notching eight kills, three aces, and two block assists. Helping out Middlebrook above the net, Simone Sears also jumped up for two block assists. Putting up nearly all of the Mules' assists was Molly Manuel with a total of 27 by the end of the match. 

Husson volleyball will have less than 24 hours to recover before hosting another match in Newman Gym on Wednesday, October 3rd at 6:00 p.m. against Unity College.
