WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.—The women's track and field team competed at the New England DIII Championships this weekend at Williams College with several athletes finishing the season with strong performances.
Competition began on Friday with Casey Modery finishing out her extremely successful college career in the long jump. Unfortunately conditions weren't ideal for the event and Modery was forced to jump in the midst of a downpour but still managed to place 24th with a leap of 4.31 meters.
Leah Desjardins also competed on Friday in the 100-meter dash to wrap up her incredible freshman campaign. Desjardins went into the meet seeded 20th, but ran a time of 13.00 seconds to bump up two spots and finish in 18th place.
Action continued on Saturday with Faith Burnett in the shot put, Husson's only athlete competing on the day. Burnett competed against a talented field and earned 17th place in the meet with a throw of 10.93 meters.
