Cambridge, MA - On the first day of the NE DIII outdoor track and field championship, Kerianne Downing got Husson University off to a great start.
Competing in the heptathlon, Downing set person records in 3 of the 4 events contested today. She ran 16.55 in the 100 meter hurdles which is also a new person record and school record. She jump 1.54m in the high jump which was also a person record. In the shot put, Downing narrowly missed another person record with a toss of 9.73m. Finally to close out the day, Downing ran 28.87 in the 200 which was another person record as she had never broken 30 seconds before.
With three events to be contested tomorrow, Downing sits in 8th place in the competition.
