Eagles Perform well at Colby Invite

Waterville, ME - The Husson Women's Track & Field completed in the Colby College Invite on Saturday. The meet contained one of the top 10 teams in the country in MIT along with Bates and Colby and the Eagles did a great job of competing against such talent. The team's 25 point performance put them in fourth place of the five teams on the women's side. MIT won the meet with 287 points.

Erin Ellison took 9th in the Hammer and scored 3rd in the Shot Put setting a new personal record and narrowly missing her second DIII NE qualifer.

Kerianne Downing placed 6th in the Javelin setting a personal record, placed 12th in the 800 setting a personal record, and took 5th in the 100H. Based on Downing's performance at the Colby Invite and her performance at Fitchburg State last weekend, she has qualified for the Heptathlon for the DIII NE Championships with a total of 3354, a new personal and school record score for Husso.

Chrissy Larrabee took 6th in the 1500 and 4th in the 800 in two tactical races.

Aleica Palmer was 5th in the steeple chase while Morgan Clifford took 6th in her first attempt at the grueling event.

Casey Modery had a great field day placing 10th in the Long Jump, setting an outdoor personal record and 9th in the triple jump barely missing the finals of both.

Erin Bolduc took 4th in the 100 Hurdles dipping under 17 seconds and Jaclyn MacDonald took 11th in the pole vault setting a new personal record.
Next meet for Husson is the Aloha Relays at Bowdoin College which will server as the State Championship for the women. It will be the first time that Husson will be at full squad strength and should have excellent performances as they prepare for the NAC Championship meet the following week.
