Cambridge, MA - Husson women's outdoor track and field competed in the MIT Quad on Saturday. The Eagles were led by strong performances from Chrissy Larrabee (Brooks, ME), Alecia Palmer (Presque Isle, ME), and Sarah LaPlante (Wallingford, CT). The team's 38 point performance put them in fifth place of the five teams on the women's side. MIT won the meet with 239 points.
Larrabee qualified for DIII New England's with a 4:52.08 in the 1500 meter run. She finished fourth overall in the event. Larrabee also competed on Husson's 4x400 relay team.
In the javelin throw, LaPlante finished second overall with a distance of 35.7 meters. Diana Kruszewski (Auburn, ME), Sara Hofmann, and Taylor Zeigler-Miller (Bucksport, ME) finished in fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively. All four throwers threw DIII New England Championships qualifying distances. LaPlante and Kruszewski also finished ninth and tenth in the shot put.
Palmer finished fourth overall in the 3000 meter steeplechase, running a 12:37.12. She also competed in the 1500 meters. Kristen Lawrence (Manchester, NH) ran a 13.6 100 meter dash to earn a point for Husson in the sprints.

The Eagles will travel to Brunswick, ME to compete in the Aloha Relays at Bowdoin on Saturday, April 20.
