Brunswick, ME - The Husson University track team continued their season with the Aloha Relays and Heptathlon this weekend, hosted by Bowdoin College. This marked the first Heptathlon of the year for the Eagles as all three athletes completed the grueling seven-event competition.
Heptathlete Diana Kruszewski (Auburn, ME) qualified for the New England Division III Championships in the javelin with a throw of 32.18 on her way to winning that event of the heptathlon, and led all Eagles to come in fifth with a total of 2621 points.
In the non-heptathlon javelin event Sarah LaPlante (Wallingford, CT) finished fourth with a throw of 33.75.
The marquee performances for Husson were turned in by the distance runners, led by Molly Frankinburger (Lebanon, CT) broke the 20:00 mark in the 5k for the first time of her career, finishing in sixth overall at 19:59:29. Chrissy Larrabee (Brooks, ME) set personal records in both the 800m and 1500m, finishing 9th and 13th respectively.
Of the three heptathletes, Diana Kruszewski (Auburn, ME) turned in the best finish, coming in fifth, with a total of 2621 points.
