Desjardins Becomes First Female Indoor T&F Runner to Earn All-New England Honors at New England DIII Championship

BRUNSWICK, Maine –Junior Leah Desjardins set new milestones for the Husson women's indoor track & field program as she became the first ever female Eagle on the track to earn All-New England honors. The four Eagles who represented the Husson program at the New England Division III Championship at Bowdoin College, took 21st place overall. 

After entering the meet as the ninth seed, Desjardins blew everyone away, capturing fourth place in the final of the 60-meter dash with a 7.93-second time. In the trials, the junior broke her own school record running a hundredth of a second faster for 7.92 seconds. 

Running the anchor in the 4x200-meter relay, Desjardins helped Shea Curley, Bree Sautter, and Allison Kondracki tie the fourth best time in program history with a 1:52.77 race for 20th place.
