BRUNSWICK, Maine -- The Husson women's indoor track team competed at the Bowdoin College Invitational on Saturday in their first scoring meet. They placed sixth out of seven teams with a score of 39.50.
Sophomore Leah Desjardins finished ninth in the 60 meter dash with 8.24 seconds and finished seventh in the 60 meter hurdles. She raced in 10.54 seconds for that race.
Sophomore Lisa Pawlowski competed in the women's high jump and finished in fifth place with a jump of 1.42 meters.
Freshman Jordan Durant took home eighth with a long jump of 4.60 meters.
Husson had three women competing in the women's triple jump, finishing one after another was Rodriguez who placed fourth place, 9.24 meters, freshman Durant followed in fifth place with a length of 9.18 meter and freshman Allison Kondracki with 9.13 meters in sixth place.
The women eagles had four compete, three of which finished in the top five. Freshmen Isabella Capozzi taking home second place with a throw of 11.13 meters, senior Faith Burnett placed third with a personal best throw of 10.78 meters exceeding her last collegiate meet by 0.88 meters. Sophomore Megan Bataran threw 10.42 meters.
Burnett also competed in the women's weight throw surpassing her seed throw with a distance of 12.80 meters and finished in sixth place.
The women's indoor track and field team will travel to Lewiston, Maine next weekend for the Bates Invitational at Bates College on Sat. January 20.
