Gorham, ME - Husson's women's indoor track and field team had a strong showing at the team's second invitational meet of the 2012-2013 season. The University of Southern Maine won their home invitational with 178 points. Colby College finished in 2nd with 171 points, while Husson finished in 11th with three points.
Paige McNaughton (Randolph, ME) earned Husson points in the women's weight throw, throwing 10.92m for 7th place. Also showing well in the field events, Shauna Randall (Groveton, NH) achieved a personal record in the high jump, clearing 1.32m and tying for 9th place.
On the track, Kristen Lawrence (Manchester, NH) and Kendra Jackson (Waterboro, ME) competed in the 200m dash, running a 28.9 and a 29.81 respectively. Jackson also ran a 1:54.86 in the 600m run. Lawrence also competed in the long jump and the 55m dash.
The 4x800 relay team of Molly Frankinburger (Lebanon, CT), Kateri Jeffrey (South Portland, ME), Jackson, and Kristi Bryer (Howland, ME) competed in their first relay of the season and ran an 11:29.89. Frankinburger posted a 5:50.18 mile time, and Bryer posted a 1:11.51 time in the 400 Meter Dash.
The Eagles will be back in action on February 1 at Bowdoin College for the Maine State Indoor Championships.
