BOSTON, Mass. - Husson women's tennis added another 'W' to the win column, knocking off Lesley University with a 7-2 victory at Harvard University on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles close out their regular season with a 6-0 undefeated record in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) and 8-1 on the season.
Husson dispatched the Lynx in singles, with Ashley Matlock, Natalie Tilton, Hannah Malinen, Nicci Munroe and Jocelyn Bell winning their respective matches in two sets. Bell posted a clean sheet, shutting out Lesley's Kiki Karavas in two sets without surrendering a single point. Julia O'Leary battled with Lesley's Summer Lamprey to a three-set showdown, but came up short in the third set.
The #2 doubles duo for Husson consisting of Matlock and Munroe shut out the #2 Lesley duo of Mary Pulling and Annie Dai, 8-0. Malinen and Tilton overcame the Lesley combination of Maddie Abbott and Grace Jovanovich with an 8-4 win. Marisa Brown and Bell battled Lamprey and Morgan Anderson of the Lynx, but were defeated 8-4.
Husson will travel to Woburn, Mass. to compete in the 2019 NAC Women's Tennis East Division Championship as the top seed, and will face #4 NVU-Lyndon in the Semifinal round. Husson faced NVU-Lyndon back on September 21st, winning with a 9-0 shutout. Opening serve is set for 12:00 P.M. at the Woburn Racquet Club.
