NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - The visiting Husson women's tennis team rolled to a convincing 9-0 win over the MCLA Trailblazers this afternoon in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action. The Eagles improve to 2-1 overall and sit atop the league at 2-0. MCLA dips to 1-3 overall and is 1-1 in the conference.
Husson swept through the doubles action as Natalie Tilton and Hannah Malinen earned an 8-1 win in the top doubles slot for the first point. The duos of Ashley Matlock and Nicci Munroe along with Jocelyn Bell and Marisa Brown each earned 8-1 wins, as well, to give the Eagles a 3-0 advantage heading into singles play.
The Eagles took all the singles matches in straight sets. Matlock and Tilton cruised in the top-two singles matches for their second points of the afternoon. Malinen and Julia O'Leary earned points at the third and fourth singles slots, while Munroe and Bell took the fifth and sixth points to round out the scoring.
The Husson tennis team will compete next on Saturday, September 14th at Thomas College with a 1:00 p.m. start time.
