Women's Tennis Dealt First Loss of the Season by Colby, 9-0

WATERVILLE, Maine - The Husson (10-1) women's tennis team suffered a tough road loss at Colby College (7-6) on Friday afternoon. It was a struggle to score all afternoon, as the Eagles were unable to come away with a victory, and fell to Colby by a final score of 9-0.

In doubles play, the Eagles' struggled to win sets. The pairing of Meredith Blessard and Ashley Matlock were defeated 8-1, while the pairings of Natalie Tilton/Hannah Malinen and Jocelyn Bell/Marisa Brown were both defeated 8-0.

Singles play wasn't much easier for Husson, as only Julia O'Leary was able to score. Blessard, Matlock, Tilton, Malinen, and Nicci Munroe were all swept in their singles matches. O'Leary lost by a final score of 6-0, 6-2.

The Eagles will now turn their attention towards the NCAA Tournament. Due to their conference championship victory back in October, Husson will represent the NAC in the tournament starting May 10th.
