BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University Women's tennis team collected their fourth win of the season after defeating Johnson State 9-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Bangor High School.
In doubles, Sarah Smith and Charlotte Bednarz defeated Nicole Monick and Sam Kersumer 8-5. In No. 2 doubles, Meridith Blessard and Marisa Brown collected a 9-7 win over Mikayla Messier and Grace Page. No. 3 doubles, Jocelyn Bell and Elizabeth Adley defeated Ashley Fogg and Sarah Lind with a score of 8-4.
In singles action, Meridith Blessard defeated Nicole Monick 6-2, 6-2. The No. 2 singles, Sarah Smith, collected a win over her opponent, Grace Page, 6-1, 6-0. Charlotte Bednarz won her match, 6-3, 6-2, against Mikayla Messier. Marisa Brown collected the win against Ashley Fogg in No. 5 singles with a score of 6-1, 6-2. Elizabeth Adley defeated Sam Kersumer, 6-1, 6-0. In No. 6 singles, Jocelyn Bell blanked her opponent, Sarah Lind, 6-0, 6-0.
The Eagles will be traveling to the University of Southern Maine on Tuesday, September 20 for a 4:00 p.m. match.
