WATERVILLE, Maine - The Husson University women's soccer team (3-5) was ousted by the Colby College Mules (4-4-2) in non-conference play by a final score of 7-0, late Wednesday afternoon.

Throughout the contest, the Eagles struggled to get the ball into Mule territory, with Mackenzie St. Pierre providing the lone shot on goal for Husson early on. Colby midfielder Kerrie Verbeek punched in the first score of the day in the 7th minute of play, assisted by defender Olivia Siegel.

Just four minutes later, Mules' forward Kara Wilson extended the Colby lead to 2-0. Verbeek struck again in the 22nd minute for her second goal of the game with an assist by forward Caitlin Parks to make it 3-0 in favor of Colby before the end of the first half.

The latter half saw three more Mules finding the back of the net, as Colby added four insurance goals. Forward Ellie Hankin punched one in during the 53rd minute and closed out scoring just three minutes before the final whistle.

Jenna Dietenhofer-Diamond relieved Shie Smith in net for the Eagles right before the end of the first half and played the remainder of the game, tallying 10 saves in almost 47 minutes of action for her first collegiate appearance. Smith made six stops before the switch.

Mules' netminder Shannon Gray saved the shot on goal from St. Pierre in the first half while Ashley Boardman finished the afternoon in between the pipes for Colby.

Husson travels to Canton, N.Y. to take on the SUNY Canton Roos on Saturday, October 12th. Action on the pitch is scheduled to start at 1:30 P.M.
