NORTON, Mass. - Husson women's soccer (1-7-0) took a hard fall to Wheaton College (Mass.), 6-0, in a non-conference game at Christina Mirrione Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Lyons (7-1-0) found the back of the net twice in the first half taking a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute as Chloe Troy connected off an Aymara O'Brien-Pappa corner kick. With four minutes left to play in the opening half, Nicole Moody found Hannah Lepordo inside the box and launched a shot into the top left corner. By the end of the first half, Shie Smith had recorded 12 saves in net for the Eagles.
Lyon Megan Darrell's corner kick took on a nice curve after leaving her foot, bending directly into the goal for a 3-0 lead just two minutes into the second half. Moody added on a a pair of goals while Lepordo finished her second of the day to close out the match.
Husson's closest scoring opportunity struck in the 75th minute as Alexa Lynham curled in a shot from the top of the box, but Wheaton's (Mass.) Kaitlin Gossart was more than ready on her toes to make the save.

Smith tallied 14 saves for the Eagles in her first collegiate start while Gossart stopped four shots for the Lyons before being replaced in the final minute of the game by Alexa Barbagallo.
The Lyons posted the advantage in shots on goal, 20-4.
The Eagles will travel to Northern Vermont -Johnson for a North Atlantic Conference matchup on Saturday, September 29th at 1 p.m.
