BANGOR, Maine- The Husson University women's soccer team (0-2-0) fell to the Elms College Blazers (2-1-1) by a final score of 4-1 during the 13th Annual Courtyard by Marriott Classic on Saturday afternoon.
Husson junior forward Joan Overman started the scoring early in the opening seven minutes of the match to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead off the foot of junior midfielder Alli Carey earning the assist. The Blazers responded late in the first half, when freshman defender Jaime Cerrato knocked one in following a corner kick to tie the score, 1-1. Assists were credited to sophomore defenders Olivia Denkiewicz and Paige Silva.
The second half kicked off with plenty of back and forth action, culminating to three quick goals over the course of five minutes for the Blazers by junior forward Alizaya Clark and senior midfielder Shannon Denault knocking in a pair of her own to capture the 4-1 victory.

Denying five shots on goal, Sami Ireland played all 90 minutes in net for the Eagles while Rebecca Mollin stopped three shots for the Blazers.
Husson was outshot by Elms, 11-7, and the Blazers also held the advantage in corner kicks.
The Husson Eagles will face off against the Western New England Golden Bears on Sunday following the Elms Blazers match against the UMass Boston Beacons to finish out the 13th Annual Courtyard by Marriott Classic. Kickoff is set for 1:00 pm.
