Bangor, ME - Women's lacrosse defeated the University of Dallas on Saturday afternoon, 16-12.
Caitlyn Stauffer (Brookfield, CT) and Michaela Bicknell (West Addison, VT) lead the Eagles to the victory both scoring 3 goals, Charlotte Gerhardy (Denver, CO) added 2 goals, and 1 assist. Anna Wolterbeek (Wells, ME), Alissa Fallon (Kennebunk, ME), Theresa Butler (Bridgton, ME), Amanda Burns (Rockland, ME), Amanda Mora (Stratford, CT) and Emily Child (Mexico, ME) added lone goals on the afternoon.
Husson lead 16-10 going into the final 5 minutes of the game. The Crusaders had chances of a comeback when Mary Salotto added her 4th goal of the game at 3:59 remaining, and Irene Harris added her 2nd of the day with 50 seconds remaining.
The Eagles lead in ground balls 25-22, and came out successful on both free position shots that they took. They also led shots 37-22. Goalie Chelsea Kondratowicz (Kingston, NY) had 8 saves on the day.
Mikayla Tolley also added 4 goals for the Crusaders, while Mary Hilker added the other 2 goals.
Husson improves to 2-1 on the season, while Dallas falls to 1-4. Husson will play at the University of New England this Monday, March 25th at 4:00 PM.
