Husson Women's Golf Excited to Announce First Commitment of 2020-21

BANGOR, Maine - The Husson women's golf program is excited to announce the first official commitment to the 2020-21 squad. Gabbie James joins the Eagles after competing for the Mount Desert Island Trojans as a three-sport student-athlete.

A two-year captain, James was a three-time Penobscot Valley Conference Female Golfer of the Year while also earning a spot on the All-Conference Team her sophomore, junior, and senior years. She helped her team win the PVC Championship in 2018 after finishing as the Runner-Up the year before. Her 2018 squad was also recognized as the State Class B Runner-Up, making it to States three years in a row. Following the 2017 and 2018 seasons, the Trojan girl's golf team was honored with the Class B Sportsmanship Award.

Individually, James placed 9th at States her junior year to help her qualify for New England's, and 13th at States in her final season as a Trojan, as she went to New England's as the alternate.

Throughout her sophomore to senior year, she also competed on the MDI softball team and finished her final two years of high school on the unified basketball team. A hard worker, James spends her free time working at the Northeast Harbor Golf Course.
