Women's Golf Finishes Second at NEIGA Championship

BREWSTER, Mass. – The Husson University women's golf team placed second with a 766 (372-394) in the 36-hole 4th Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship at The Captains Course on Monday.

For the Eagles, the 766-team card is the lowest score they have ever posted at the NEIGA Championship. Previously, the team's lowest score in three appearances was 803 (2018); the Eagles finished third in the event last fall.

Husson's junior Katie Goulet led the Eagles and finished in fifth overall with a 182 (86-96) card to earn her second consecutive All-New England honor.

Senior Taylor Burbo also faired well with a 190 (89-101) score and placed eighth while first-year Hailee Perkins finished in tenth with a 194 (99-95) card.

Sophomore Makenzie Plourde shot a 204 (102-102) which was good enough for 14th place and sophomore Veronica Diaz finished 18th with a 213 (98-115) score.

American International's Paulette Romero topped the 23-player field with a 163 (82-81) and Bates College claimed the team title with a 764 (372-392) score, two strokes ahead of the Eagles.

Husson returns to the course in the spring of 2020.
