Women's Golf Takes Third Place at 2019 Bowdoin Invite

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Husson University women's golf team opened the season at the Bowdoin Invitational Saturday and Sunday.

Husson finished third out of four teams with a final score of 750. The Eagles posted a 373 Saturday and a 377 Sunday.
 
Bowdoin won the team title with a 677 (332-345) behind medalist Abbie Kaestle (161, 78-83), followed by Bates with a 725 (368-357), while Trinity (Conn.) took fourth with a 831 (421-410).

Taylor Burbo (87-95) and Katie Goulet (94-88) both shoot 182s and finished in a tie for seventh. Makenzie Plourde tied for 13th with a 195 (100-95), Hailee Perkins carded a 204 (105-99) good enough for 16th in her first career intercollegiate tournament, while Veronica Diaz finished one spot behind Perkins in 17th with a 206 (92-114).
 
Husson returns to action next Saturday and Sunday at the Bates Invite in Auburn, Maine (Martindale Country Club).
