BANGOR, Maine - Adding a third commitment to the Husson women's basketball team for the 2020-21 season, a native of Bryant Pond, Maine, Luci Rothwell will be joining the Eagles in the Fall of 2020.
A 5-11 forward, Rothwell was a four-year starter at Telstar High School. She is a three-sport student-athlete, playing goalie for the girl's soccer team and first base for the softball team. In the off season, she played AAU basketball for The Maine Basketball Club.
This past season, Luci averaged 18.3 points and 18.7 rebounds per game. She was selected First Team Mountain Valley Conference All-Star as she led the Mountain Valley Conference in scoring and rebounding. Luci was also selected to the 2020 McDonald's All-Star Team.
"Luci has an instinct for knowing where the ball is which led to her rebounding statistics. Our staff was impressed with her positive attitude and desire to want to improve her game. Luci is smart and coachable, we think Luci has her best playing days ahead of her as an Eagle," contributes Husson's head women's basketball coach Kissy Walker.
Rothwell has also done a tremendous job in the classroom. She is Vice President of the National Honor Society committee at her school, has maintained high honors throughout her four years at Telstar, and is currently ranked fifth in her class. Rothwell will be enrolling in the Occupational Therapy program at Husson University in the Fall.
