    BANGOR, Maine - Ellsworth High School star, Trinity Montigny, coached by Andy Pooler helped lead the Ellsworth Eagles to the school’s second-best record in program history this past season. The 5’ 6” senior guard averaged 17.4 points, 3.3 assists, 2.8 steals, and 3.5 rebounds a game.

    BANGOR, Maine - Bowdoin College senior Maddie Hasson has been chosen as the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) Player of the Year, while Bailey Donovan of Husson University has been selected as the Rookie of the Year. Donovan also achieved a spot on the All-Rookie Team and First Team All-State. Adrienne Shibles from Bowdoin College was picked as the Coach of the Year.

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass.  – The New England Women’s Basketball Association (NEWBA) has announced its award winners and All-Region selections for the 2019-20 season. Bailey Donovan became the first Eagle to earn a major award from NEWBA as she was named Rookie of the Year, while also accomplishing a spot on the All-Rookie First Team.

    BANGOR, Maine - Seven women were named to the 2020 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Women's Basketball Championship All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of the event on Saturday, February 29th. Sophomore Sydney Allen earned MVP honors and was joined by teammates, first-year Bailey Donovan and senior Joan Overman. Juniors Alex Bessey and McKenna Brodeur were selected to represent UMaine-Farmington. Seniors Alissa Mitchell of NVU-Lyndon, and Mikayla Charters of Maine Maritime were also selected to the team.

    WATERVILLE, Maine - Husson University claimed four of the five major awards with Defensive Player of the Year Joan Overman, Rookie of the Year Bailey Donovan, Senior Scholar Athlete Nicole Tapparo, and Coach of the Year Kissy Walker. This marks the first time in HU women's basketball program history that an Eagle has been named Senior Scholar Athlete and the first time in 20 years that Husson saw three players earn spots on the All-NAC First Team.

    BANGOR, Maine - First-year Bailey Donovan continues to impress, sweeping back-to-back Rookie of the Week honors from two associations. She earned Co-Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row from New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) and her seventh-straight and tenth overall Rookie of the Week spotlight from the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA). Fellow first-year, Scott Lewis, achieved his fifth Honor Roll recognition from the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) while DJ Bussey was selected to the MMBCWA Honor Roll for his first time this season.

    WATERVILLE, Maine - Husson University (17-8 overall, 14-0 NAC) swept the conference to earn the top seed for the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) six-team Women's Basketball Championship Tournament that starts this weekend. The Eagles receive a bye for the quarterfinal round and will host the final four tournament next weekend when they attempt to win the program's fifth-consecutive conference championship. Second-seeded Maine Maritime Academy (20-5, 12-2) also advances directly to the semifinal round.

    BANGOR, Maine  - Adding on to her slew of weekly accolades, Bailey Donovan stood out among all New England players this past week to be recognized as Co-Rookie of the Week by the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA). She also impressed the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) as she grabbed her sixth-straight and ninth overall Rookie of the Week honor. Another standout first-year basketball player for Husson, Scott Lewis was recognized yet again by the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) with a spot on the Honor Roll.

    The Husson University women’s basketball team (17-8, 14-0 NAC) pulled off an exhilarating win over the visiting Maine Maritime Mariners (21-4, 12-2 NAC) at Newman Gymnasium on Tuesday night as Bailey Donovan scored the game-winner with five seconds remaining in the contest. With the victory, the Eagles wrap up North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play a perfect 14-0, the first time since 2010 and just the fifth time under head coach Kissy Walker, while remaining undefeated on their home court during the 2019-20 regular season.

    The Husson University women’s basketball team (16-8, 13-0 NAC) jumped out to an early twelve-point lead and never looked back as they defeated the Terriers of Thomas College (10-14, 8-5 NAC), 90-53 at Newman Gymnasium Saturday afternoon. Prior to the contest, the Eagles recognized their four seniors, Joan Overman, Sami Ireland, Nicole Tapparo and Mickayla Willette for their contributions to the program over the last four years.

    FARMINGTON, Maine – A late comeback attempt by the University of Maine-Farmington Beavers (12-11, 9-3 NAC) was squashed by the Husson University women’s basketball team (15-8, 12-0 NAC) as they held onto their perfect record in conference action with the 56-48 win on Friday evening.

    LYNDONVILLE, Vt. - The Husson men’s and women’s basketball games scheduled for Friday, February 7th at Northern Vermont University-Lyndon have moved to Sunday, February 9th due to a winter storm. The North Atlantic Conference doubleheader will tip-off with the women’s game at 12:00 p.m. and the men’s game following at 2:00 p.m.
