  • Coach of the Year Kissy Walker Sees Five Players Garner NAC All-Conference Awards

    WATERVILLE, Maine - Husson University claimed four of the five major awards with Defensive Player of the Year Joan Overman, Rookie of the Year Bailey Donovan, Senior Scholar Athlete Nicole Tapparo, and Coach of the Year Kissy Walker. This marks the first time in HU women's basketball program history that an Eagle has been named Senior Scholar Athlete and the first time in 20 years that Husson saw three players earn spots on the All-NAC First Team.

    BANGOR, Maine - First-year Bailey Donovan continues to impress, sweeping back-to-back Rookie of the Week honors from two associations. She earned Co-Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row from New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) and her seventh-straight and tenth overall Rookie of the Week spotlight from the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA). Fellow first-year, Scott Lewis, achieved his fifth Honor Roll recognition from the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) while DJ Bussey was selected to the MMBCWA Honor Roll for his first time this season.

    WATERVILLE, Maine - For the final time in their rookie campaigns, both Bailey Donovan and Scott Lewis were named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Week. This marks Donovan's tenth and final NAC Rookie of the Week of the 2019-20 season and Lewis' second.
  • Husson Secures Home Court for NAC Women's Basketball Championship Tournament

    WATERVILLE, Maine - Husson University (17-8 overall, 14-0 NAC) swept the conference to earn the top seed for the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) six-team Women's Basketball Championship Tournament that starts this weekend. The Eagles receive a bye for the quarterfinal round and will host the final four tournament next weekend when they attempt to win the program's fifth-consecutive conference championship. Second-seeded Maine Maritime Academy (20-5, 12-2) also advances directly to the semifinal round.

    BANGOR, Maine  - Adding on to her slew of weekly accolades, Bailey Donovan stood out among all New England players this past week to be recognized as Co-Rookie of the Week by the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA). She also impressed the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) as she grabbed her sixth-straight and ninth overall Rookie of the Week honor. Another standout first-year basketball player for Husson, Scott Lewis was recognized yet again by the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) with a spot on the Honor Roll. 
  • Donovan Scores Game-Winner as Eagles Edge Mariners, 52-49

    The Husson University women’s basketball team (17-8, 14-0 NAC) pulled off an exhilarating win over the visiting Maine Maritime Mariners (21-4, 12-2 NAC) at Newman Gymnasium on Tuesday night as Bailey Donovan scored the game-winner with five seconds remaining in the contest. With the victory, the Eagles wrap up North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play a perfect 14-0, the first time since 2010 and just the fifth time under head coach Kissy Walker, while remaining undefeated on their home court during the 2019-20 regular season.
  • Women's Basketball Takes Down Terriers on Senior Day, 90-53

    The Husson University women’s basketball team (16-8, 13-0 NAC) jumped out to an early twelve-point lead and never looked back as they defeated the Terriers of Thomas College (10-14, 8-5 NAC), 90-53 at Newman Gymnasium Saturday afternoon. Prior to the contest, the Eagles recognized their four seniors, Joan Overman, Sami Ireland, Nicole Tapparo and Mickayla Willette for their contributions to the program over the last four years. 
  • Husson Women's Basketball Extends Undefeated NAC Record to 12-0 with 56-48 Win over UMF

    FARMINGTON, Maine – A late comeback attempt by the University of Maine-Farmington Beavers (12-11, 9-3 NAC) was squashed by the Husson University women’s basketball team (15-8, 12-0 NAC) as they held onto their perfect record in conference action with the 56-48 win on Friday evening.

    BANGOR, Maine - After landing on the Honor Roll for the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) several times in his rookie campaign,  Scott Lewis achieved his first Rookie of the Week recognition. Teammate, Justice Kendall, was acknowdleged on the MMBCWA Honor Roll, respectively. For the women, Bailey Donovan swiped her fifth-straight and eighth overall Rookie of the Week honor from the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA).

The North Atlantic Conference doubleheader will tip-off with the women’s game at 12:00 p.m. and the men’s game following at 2:00 p.m.

THE MWBCA also recognized Emma Alley to the Honor Roll for her first time this season. Derek Collin on the Husson men's basketball team, was mentioned on the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) Honor Roll for the second time in his rookie season.

    Sophomore guard Sydney Allen set a new program record for three-pointers made in a game as the Husson women’s basketball team (9-7, 6-0 NAC) extended its winning streak to five to remain perfect in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play as they defeated the SUNY Canton Roos (1-17, 1-6 NAC), on Friday Night. Allen, who finished the night 8-11 (72.7%) from downtown, set a new program record for three-pointers made in a game (8).

From the men's basketball squad, Scott Lewis earned a spot on the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) Rookie Honor Roll for the second time this season.
