BANGOR, Maine – Trekking all the way from Orlando, Fla., the Husson women's basketball program gains their second Floridian in the 2019-20 recruitment class with Truly Le.
The current senior at Dr. Phillips High School is a four-year varsity letterman as a starter in the backcourt for the last two seasons, the 5-3 guard averaged over eight points and three assists per game to help her earn All-Tournament Team honors after this past season. The Panthers unexpectedly went undefeated this season to win the Florida Prospects Tournament in December 2018.
Her high school head coach Anthony Jones has nothing, but kind words to add on about Le, "Truly is the epitome of persistence. She's come a long way since her freshman year, steadily improving her speed, her release, as well as her shooting touch and that commitment carried over into every day of practice….she's the most improved player over the last few years and that commands respect because it shows everyone around you that the team is your priority and if you look at the team's improvement over that same time period, you'll see there's no coincidence that her best season we had the most victories since 2014."
Le also excels both on the hardwood and in the classroom. She was recently named Female Athlete of the Year in her high school of over 3,700 students. Her intentions are to study Business at Husson University starting in the Fall of 2019.
