    BANGOR, Maine – The Husson women’s basketball coaching staff has been busy recruiting as they welcome in two more future Eagles to the 2019-20 team. Caitlynn Tracy, another local player, will be joining the squad from Hermon, Maine while Cassie Urso will move up from Enfield, Conn. to become an Eagle.

    BANGOR, Maine – Husson women’s basketball recently accepted a local into the 2019-20 program as the second incoming player to commit to the team. Bailey Donovan is a senior at Hampden Academy in Hampden, Maine who recently just finished an impressive four-year career for the Broncos.

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) has announced the rosters for the 2019 Senior All-Star Classic. Husson senior guard Kenzie Worcester has been selected to play in this year's exhibition and will play on the away team (dark uniforms).

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) announced its award winners and All-Region selections on Wednesday afternoon. Husson senior guard Kenzie Worcester was named to the NEWBA All-Region Second Team, this also marks the third straight season a Eagle player has been selected to the NEWBA All-Region team.

    AMHERST, Mass. – Finishing out her career as an Eagle doing what she does best, senior Kenzie Worcester led all-scorers on the hardwood with 26 points as the Husson women’s basketball team (19-9) concluded their season with a 66-45 loss at LeFrak Gymnasium against #5/#6 Amherst College (24-3) in the first round of the NCAA Division III Basketball Tournament on Friday evening.

    BANGOR, Maine - After an exciting past week for the Husson basketball program, both teams continued to be spotlighted by different associations. The Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) named Justin Martin Player of the Week for his first time this season while Brett Cunningham achieved a spot on the Honor Roll for the sixth time in his rookie year. Kenzie Worcester was recognized on the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Honor Roll for the fourth time in her senior season.

    WATERVILLE, Maine - Helping the Eagles earn their fourth consecutive North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship on Saturday, rookie Vanessa Duarte grabbed her third NAC Rookie of the Week honor to close out the season on their home court as Husson prepares to advance to the first round of NCAA's.

    WATERVILLE, Maine - After earning North Atlantic Confernece (NAC) Tournament MVP for her fourth time, senior Kenzie Worcester made history on Saturday as the first player in the conference to achieve this honor all four years. Following this achievement, she was named NAC Player of the Week for the eighth time this season.

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Committee announced Monday the field of 64 teams for the 2019 championship. Husson will be traveling to Amherst, Mass. to battle #4/#5 Amherst College for the first time since the 2010-11 when the Mammoths picked up the 102-44 victory. Husson will look to upset the Mammoths on Friday, March 1st in the first round of the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship.

  • Women's Basketball Advances into the NAC Tournament as the Top Seed

    WATERVILLE, Maine - The Eagles (17-8 overall) claimed the top seed in the conference tournament after compiling a 13-1 record in North Atlantic Confernece (NAC) play, resulting in a bye in the quarterfinal round and the right to host the final four. This marks the seventh time the Husson women have captured the No. 1 seed since joining the NAC, all while under the lead of head coach Kissy Walker.

    BANGOR, Maine - The Maine Basketball Hall of Fame has announced that Becky Moholland Ireland '96 and Mike Bouchard have been selected as part of its 2019 induction class. They are two of 24 inductees announced on February 6th.

    BANGOR, Maine - Earning his first ever North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Player of the Week honor, Justin Thompson posted an impressive week, helping Husson defeat the No. 1 ranked team in the conference, UMaine-Farmington. Kenzie Worcester also picked up her seventh NAC Player of the Week as the Eagles remained undefeated in the NAC, 13-0. Thompson also achieved a spot on the Maine Men’s Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) Honor Roll along with teammate Brett Cunningham. Then Worcester was also named to the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) Honor Roll with teammate Vanessa Duarte.

    CASTINE, Maine – Falling behind in the second quarter, the Husson women’s basketball squad (17-8, 13-1 NAC) struggled to climb back on top as the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners (18-6, 12-2 NAC) ended the Eagles unbeaten North Atlantic Conference (NAC) record in the final game of the regular season, 58-48.

    BANGOR, MAINE -The Husson women’s basketball team (16-7, 12-0 NAC) took the lead from the opening minute and never looked back as the Eagles defeated the Thomas College Terriers (6-16, 5-7 NAC), 63-46, in the final home game of the regular season. Kenzie Worcester was honored before the game as the only senior on the team.

    BANGOR, Maine - Husson women's basketball saw three players achieve spots on three different association honor rolls. Kenzie Worcester was given a nod on both the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Honor Roll and the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) Honor Roll for the fourth time this season while teammate, Vanessa Duarte, joined Worcester on the MWBCA Honor Roll. The Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) gave a nod to Justin Martin with a spot on the honor roll for his seventh time in his senior campaign.
