BANGOR, Maine - Husson University Athletics would like to take the months of May and June to recognize the 2019-20 Eagle Award winners who would have been honored at the annual Eagle Award Banquet.
The Eagle Award winners are named by the head coach and coaching staff. Each coach may only select one winner per team. This honor is presented to those student-athletes who stand out as exemplary teammates and show what it means to be a true "Husson Eagle."
The Husson Men's Indoor Track & Field Eagle Award winner of 2019-20 is Evan Chadbourne.
"Junior Evan Chadbourne is a Business Administration major from Harmony, Maine. Evan dedicated himself to off-season training and improving his nutrition and reported to the indoor track and field season in exceptional shape. It didn't take Evan long to display his sprinting talent with his first school record of the season at the first meet, where he ran the 1st leg of the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:34.33. Evan went on to break the school record in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.68 seconds, and tied the school record in the 60-meter dash with a run of 7.15 secs. Evan became the first runner in Husson men's program history to earn NCAA Division III All-New England honors with his 6th place finish, while shattering his fourth school record of the season with a time of 22.88 secs in the 200-meter dash. Evan's value to the team goes well beyond his athletic accomplishments. He leads by example during practice with his work ethic and dedicated sprint workouts. Evan is quick to share his wealth of knowledge in block-starts with new athletes. Evan is an enthusiastic vocal cheerleader both during practices and at meets. His enthusiasm for the sport and for Husson has helped to shape the dynamics and success of the team."
Congratulations to Husson Men's Indoor Track & Field 2019-20 Eagle Award winner – Evan Chadbourne!
