Men's T&F Sets New Program Records at New England DIII Championship

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After a long weekend, the Husson men's track & field team broke multiple school records and saw one Eagle achieve All-New England accolades at the New England Division III Championship hosted by MIT. The men concluded the meet tied for 18th. 

After competing in all seven events of the heptathlon, Cayd Wortman took fifth place while earning All-New England honors while breaking the school record with 4544 points.

Both Zach Hartman and John Chen set new personal bests and program records with Chen capturing an impressive 10th place overall after coming into the weekend as the 25th seed. He chucked the weight throw 15.23 meters. Hartman also moved up from his original 24th ranking to 16th after crossing the finish line in 1:59.35 in the 800-meter run. 

In the field, Dominick Lizotte jumped up to 9th in New England after clearing 4.32 meters in the pole vault while Dominic Laptiste hit the dirt at the 6.4-meter mark in long jump for 10th place.
