BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Husson University men's golf team open up their 2019-20 campaign with a runner-up finish with a 631 (328-303) team card at the 2019 Bowdoin Invitational at the Brunswick Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday. Junior Eric Dugas paced the Eagles and claimed the first Medalist honor of his career with a 150 (78-72) card.
First-year Cade Charron finished in a six-way tie for 20th with a 160 (81-79) in his first career intercollegiate tournament. Senior Tyler Williams shot a 164 (87-77) and tied for 35th, first-year Chris Kauppila tied for 40th with a 165 (90-75) in his first career intercollegiate tournament as well, and seniors Nick Mazurek (86-81) and Bailey Nangle (82-85) posted 167s and finished tied for 46th.
Nichols College won the Polar Bear Invite with a 623 (314-309) card. University of Southern Maine took third with a 632 (319-313), while Providence College (317-318) and Bowdoin Black (317-321) rounded out the top five.
The Eagles return to the links next weekend at the Bates Invite at the Martindale Country Club in Auburn, Maine.
