GREENSBORO, N.C. – Freshman Eric Dugas of the Husson University men's golf team competed in the third round of the 2018 NCAA Division III Championships on Friday. Dugas finished tied for 12th in a field of 217 golfers at the four-round event held at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Dugas ended the championship carding a 292 after entering the clubhouse on Friday with a 69 par-72 7150-yard East Course at the Grandover Resort. He opened play on Tuesday with a 75 on the East Course before shooting a even par 72 on the par-72, 6780-yard West Course Wednesday afternoon after finishing his first round early Wednesday morining. On Thursday, after the field was cut to the top 18 teams and six individuals not on an advancing team, the freshman carded a 75 on the East Course.

Dugas finish of 12th place at the national event ties the highest individual finish in program history (Joe Alvarez '02 finished tied for 12th at the 2002 NAIA National Championship) and the highest since Husson joined the NCAA in the fall of 2003, while recording the lowest four-day tournament score in program history.

This concludes the 2017-18 season for the Husson men's golf team.
