Men's Basketball Builds on 2019-20 Program with Addition of KJ Seals

BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University men's basketball program added some back court depth with the commitment of Kelvin "KJ" Seals.  Seals is a 5-11 combo guard and is transferring from DII Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville.  He will have four years of eligibility remaining after red-shirting this past year.

"KJ is a quick combo guard who is very good off the dribble and is a good defender," says head coach Warren Caruso.  "KJ carries himself well and has good leadership qualities. We look forward to having him in the mix."

Seals is a 2018 graduate of Cornerstone Schools in Birmingham, Ala. During his senior year, he was a starting guard and averaged 12.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game. Cornerstone advanced to Alabama's Final Four in 2018. He was named All-Area Tournament Team and All-Regional Tournament Team. Prior to moving to Birmingham, Ala., Seals lived in Las Vegas, Nev. where he played at Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy as well as with the Las Vegas Elite AAU team.

Seals joins Jared Balser (Mt. Ararat HS), Scott Lewis (So. Portland HS), Luke Martin (Ponte Vedra HS) and Derick Collin (MDI HS) in this year's recruiting class.

Husson finished the 2018-19 season with a 17-11 record, winning their seventh North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship in 11 years.  The Eagles advanced to the NCAA National Tournament losing to #19 Williams in the first round, 86-60.  Husson men's basketball has earned the share or outright regular season conference title four-straight years and 15 times in the last 25 years.  The Eagles recorded their 36th consecutive winning season and made their 34th consecutive conference tournament appearance.
