  • Donovan Named NEWBA and MWBCA Rookie of the Week; Two Eagles Receive Honor Roll Recognition

    BANGOR, Maine - For the second time in her rookie campaign, Bailey Donovan swept Rookie of the Week honors for the North Atlantic Conference (NAC), New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA), and the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) following an impressive single week performance. Her teammate, Sydney Allen, was also recognized by the MWBCA for her shooting percentage on the court by being named to the Honor Roll. From the men's basketball squad, Scott Lewis earned a spot on the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) Rookie Honor Roll for the second time this season.

    WATERVILLE, Maine - For the fifth time this season, first-year Bailey Donovan was named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Week while fellow Husson basketball player and classmate, Scott Lewis, earned his first NAC Rookie of the Week honor.

    BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University men’s basketball team (6-7, 4-0 NAC) finished off a sweep of the University of Maine-Presque Isle Owls (4-8, 0-4 NAC) this weekend to remain undefeated in the North Atlantic Conference, finishing the night with a final score of 71-63.

    BANGOR, Maine – A 45-point effort from the Eagle bench helped the Husson University men’s basketball team (5-7) improve their North Atlantic Conference (NAC) record to 3-0 as the University of Maine-Presque Isle Owls (4-7) dropped to 0-3 in the conference with the 83-68 loss to the Eagles on Friday evening.

  • Sydney Allen Named MWBCA Co-Player of the Week; Two Eagles Land Spots on Honor Roll

    BANGOR, Maine - For the first time in her career, sophomore Sydney Allen was named Co-Player of the Week by the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) following an impressive single game performance last week. Joining her in the weekly release from the MWBCA, first-year Bailey Donovan earned a spot on the Honor Roll while men's basketball sophomore Brett Cunningham also grabbed a spot on a weekly honor roll, but for the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA).

    BANGOR, Maine - The Eagles’ (4-5) second half comeback was halted by the New England College Pilgrims (6-4) in non-conference action as the Husson men were defeated, 92-80, on Saturday afternoon at Newman Gymnasium.

    BANGOR, Maine – Despite a close score at the conclusion of the first half, the Husson University men's basketball team couldn’t keep up with the Lasers of Lasell University at home on Thursday night in non-conference action. The final score of the game finished at 88-69.

  • Husson Men's Basketball Opens Conference Play with a 94-83 Win Over NVU-Lyndon

    BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University men’s basketball team (3-3, 1-0 NAC) finally returned back to their home court on Saturday evening to face-off against the Northern Vermont University-Lyndon Hornets (3-5, 0-1) in their conference opener.  Despite a strong second half display by the Hornets, the Eagles were able to maintain a first half lead through to the end with a final score of 94-83.

    BANGOR, Maine - For the second week in a row, Bailey Donovan earned the spotlight of being named the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) Rookie of the Week. After achieving his first North Atlantic Conference (NAC) weekly honor, Derek Collin also grabbed additional recognition, landing a spot on the Maine Men’s Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) Rookie Honor Roll.

    BANGOR, Maine - Husson University Director of Athletics Frank Pergolizzi is proud to announce Kenzie Worcester, Jen Jones, Cory Brandon and Justin Martin as the 2018-19 Clara Swan and Del Merrill Athletes of the Year. They will be honored at the 2019 Husson University Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on December 6th, 2019 at the Anah Shrine in Bangor.

  • Eagles Drop a Close 3rd Annual Alumni Cup to the Monks, 90-83

    STANDISH, Maine - The Husson University men's basketball team (2-3) traveled to the Harold Alfond Center to compete in the 3rd Annual Alumni Cup against Saint Joseph's College (Maine) (1-2) on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles fell to the Monks in a close matchup, 90-83, despite five Eagles recording double digits in the setback.
  • Bates Overpowers Husson Men's Basketball on the Road

    LEWISTON, Maine - The Husson University men’s basketball (2-2) couldn’t complete the comeback as they fell to the Bates College Bobcats (1-0) after bringing the score within ten points in the final minutes. The Eagles fell to the Bobcats, 84-70, on Wednesday eveing at Alumni Gymnasium.
  • Men's Basketball Falls to UMass Dartmouth in Lafrance Hospitality Tournament

    DARTMOUTH, Mass. - The Husson University men's basketball team visited the Tripp Athletic Center at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth on Friday night to faceoff against the Corsairs in the first day of the Lafrance Hospitality Tournament. The Eagles fell to the Corsairs in their first night of the competition, 89-46. 
  • Eagles Outscore Raptors, 80-68, in First Meeting in 27 Years

    DARTMOUTH, Mass. - The Husson University men's basketball team returned to the Tripp Athletic Center at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon to faceoff against the Bard College Raptors in the second day of the Lafrance Hospitality Tournament. The Eagles overpowered the Raptors, 80-68, in their first match-up since 1992 to help take third place in the four-team tournament.

    CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - All five starters scored double-digit points as the Husson University men’s basketball team (1-0) opened the season on Saturday afternoon with a 112-96 victory over Pine Manor College on the road.
  • Eagles Grab Second-Place Pick in 2019-20 NAC Men's Basketball Preseason Poll

    WATERVILLE, Maine - UMaine-Farmington barely edged Husson for the top spot in the 2019-20 North Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball preseason coaches poll. The Beavers collected four first-place votes and 58 points, while the Eagles collected three first-place votes and 56 points. Thomas College picked up the remaining first-place votes and totalled 48 points for third place in the poll.

    BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University men’s basketball team visited the Cross Insurance Center to open up the 2019 season as they faced the University of Maine in an exhibition game on Sunday afternoon. The Black Bears overtook the Eagles, 76-50.

  • Top Moments of 2018-19: Justin Martin Becomes 50th Eagle to Join Husson Men's Basketball 1,000-Point Club

    BANGOR, Maine - On Tuesday, February 12th, senior Justin Martin became the 50th member to join the Husson men's basketball 1,000-point club, off a three-pointer against Maine Maritime Academy. Martin helped the Eagles pick up a big 72-58 North Atlantic Conference victory in their final game of the regular season.

The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents and gifts that these men possess off the court and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom.
  • Men's Basketball Builds on 2019-20 Program with Addition of KJ Seals

    BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University men's basketball program added some back court depth with the commitment of Kelvin "KJ" Seals.  Seals is a 5-11 combo guard and is transferring from DII Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville.  He will have four years of eligibility remaining after red-shirting this past year.
