    BANGOR, Maine - Husson University men's basketball program added to their 2019 recruiting class receiving a commitment from Derek Collin.  The 6-2 guard played for coach Justin Norwood at Mount Desert Island High School.

    BANGOR, Maine - The Husson men's basketball program received their second commitment for the 2019 recruiting class.  Scott Lewis, a 6-7 forward from South Portland, Maine, has committed to attend Husson University in the fall of 2019.

    WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - A cold-shooting first half by both #19 Williams College (21-6) and Husson University (17-11) led to a six-point difference going into the final half of the game, but consistency from the floor kept the Ephs ahead as they finished Friday night with a first round win, 86-60, in the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament.

    BANGOR, Maine - After an exciting past week for the Husson basketball program, both teams continued to be spotlighted by different associations. The Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) named Justin Martin Player of the Week for his first time this season while Brett Cunningham achieved a spot on the Honor Roll for the sixth time in his rookie year. Kenzie Worcester was recognized on the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Honor Roll for the fourth time in her senior season.

    WATERVILLE, Maine - Earning his third North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Player of the Week, senior Justin Martin helped the Eagles pick up their seventh NAC Championship victory as the Tournament MVP. 
  • Men's Basketball Slated to Play #16 Williams College in the First Round of NCAA's

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Committee announced Monday the field of 64 teams for the 2019 NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championship. Husson will be traveling to Williamstown, Mass. to battle #16 Williams College for the first time since the 2010-11 season when the Ephs took the Eagles into overtime. Husson will look to avenge their overtime 86-83 loss to Williams on Friday, March 1st in the first round of the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship.

    FARMINGTON, Maine – Despite a 51-point second half push by the #3 SUNY Canton Kangaroos (14-13), the #2 Husson University men’s basketball team (16-10) finished the night at Dearborn Gymnasium with a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Semifinal win, 85-74.

    FARMINGTON, Maine – After an evenly matched first half ending in a 40-40 duel, Husson’s MVP Justin Martin and Justin Thompson stepped up the intensity in the second half to take down the Thomas College Terriers, 82-67, to win their seventh North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship.

    BANGOR, Maine - Both the Husson women's and men's basketball teams earned a first round bye in the 2019 NAC Tournaments as the women finished out the regular season as the top seed and the men advanced into playoffs as the No. 2 seed.

  • Men's Basketball Grabs No. 2 Seed in NAC Tournament

    WATERVILLE, Maine - The Beavers (16-9 overall) earned the top seed in the conference tournament after posting an 11-3 record in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play. Second-seeded Husson (15-10 overall) also posted an 11-3 conference record, but UMaine-Farmington has the seeding advantage due to tiebreaking procedures. In this case, head-to-head results were even, but the Beavers had the better record (2-0) against No. 3 SUNY Canton. Both teams earned a bye in the quarterfinal round.

    BANGOR, Maine - The Maine Basketball Hall of Fame has announced that Becky Moholland Ireland '96 and Mike Bouchard have been selected as part of its 2019 induction class. They are two of 24 inductees announced on February 6th.

    BANGOR, Maine - Earning his first ever North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Player of the Week honor, Justin Thompson posted an impressive week, helping Husson defeat the No. 1 ranked team in the conference, UMaine-Farmington. Kenzie Worcester also picked up her seventh NAC Player of the Week as the Eagles remained undefeated in the NAC, 13-0. Thompson also achieved a spot on the Maine Men’s Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) Honor Roll along with teammate Brett Cunningham. Then Worcester was also named to the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) Honor Roll with teammate Vanessa Duarte.

    CASTINE, Maine - The Husson University Eagles (15-10, 11-3 NAC) finished out the regular season on a high note picking up a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory, 72-58, as they defeated Maine Maritime Academy (11-13, 7-7 NAC) on the road Tuesday night. Justin Martin helped secure the win as he achieved a career milestone, scoring his 1000th point off a 3-pointer in the first half to become the 50th Eagle to join the club.

    BANGOR, Maine– Following by Husson’s example from Brett Cunningham’s half court buzzer beater at the end of the first half, the Thomas College (Maine) Terriers (10-12, 7-5 NAC) sent home their own buzzer beater off the hands of Tyler Nixon to break the tie avoiding overtime as they stole an 83-80 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win over the Eagles (13-10, 9-3 NAC).

    BANGOR, Maine - Husson women's basketball saw three players achieve spots on three different association honor rolls. Kenzie Worcester was given a nod on both the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Honor Roll and the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) Honor Roll for the fourth time this season while teammate, Vanessa Duarte, joined Worcester on the MWBCA Honor Roll. The Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) gave a nod to Justin Martin with a spot on the honor roll for his seventh time in his senior campaign.

    BANGOR, Maine– Sweeping the weekend against two Vermont schools, the Husson University men’s basketball team (13-8, 9-2 NAC) took a 94-55 triumph over the Northern Vermont University-Lyndon Hornets (3-18, 2-9 NAC) on senior day for another North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win this weekend at Newman Gym.  Justin Martin and Kyanti Blyden were both recognized as the only two seniors on the men’s squad.

    BANGOR, Maine – Grabbing their eighth (8-2) North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win of the season, the Husson University men’s basketball squad improved their overall record to 12-8 with a 105-32 victory over Northern Vermont University-Johnson (3-17, 2-8 NAC).

    BANGOR, Maine - The Husson men's basketball program received their first commitment for fall of 2019.  Jared Balser, a 6-9, 230 lb center from Mount Ararat High School has committed to attend Husson next year.

For women's basketball, Megan Peach earned a spot on the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) for the second time in her sophomore campaign.

    WATERVILLE, Maine - After a battling week for the men's basketball squad, both Justin Martin and Justice Kendall picked up North Atlantic Conference (NAC) weekly awards. Martin was named NAC Player of the Week for the second time this season and Kendall earned NAC Rookie of the Week for the second time in his freshman year. 
  • UMaine-Farmington Outlasts Husson Men's Basketball, 92-82

    BANGOR, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington Beavers (12-6, 8-1 NAC) battled the Husson University men’s basketball team (11-8, 7-2 NAC) at Newman Gym for the top ranking in the North Atlantic Conference with both teams entering into the matchup with the same 7-1 NAC record. Despite a strong effort by the Eagles, the Beavers came out on top, 92-82.
