PRESQUE ISLE, Maine - Husson guards Raheem Anderson and DJ Bussey have been named to the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches & Writers Association (MMBCWA) Honor Roll for the week ending January 22nd, the association office announced Tuesday.
Bussey guided the Eagles to a 2-1 record on the week, including a perfect 2-0 mark in NAC action. The rookie posted 19 points on 5-10 shooting from behind the three-point line, two assists and one rebound in a tough 90-87 loss to Bowdoin. In a 97-71 victory at Johnson, he went 5-for-6 from behind the arc, finishing with 21 points, three steals, and one rebound. The guard finished the week netting 18 points with three three-pointers, grabbing two rebounds, claiming two steals and earning one helper. On the week, he averaged 19.3 points, 1.7 steals, 1.3 rebounds, and one assist, while shooting 61.3 percent (19-of-31 from the floor and 13-20 from three-point territory).
Anderson had another tremendous week for the Eagles. The senior recorded 22 points on 9 of 21 shooting from the floor and 4-9 from the three-point line against Bowdoin. In Husson's victory at Johnson, Anderson finished the game with 15 points and six rebounds. The next day at Lyndon, the Florida native tallied 20 points and shot 46.7% from the floor.
The Eagles return to the court tonight, January 23rd when they host Colby College with a tip schedule for 7:00 pm.
