BANGOR, Maine - Husson University head football coach Nat Clark has announced on Wednesday that Nate Quirion will return to the Eagles for his third stint as the program's running backs coach.
Quirion returns to Husson after spending the past two seasons serving as the head football coach at Mt. Blue High School in Farmington, Maine. He helped guide the Cougars to a Class B North quarterfinals berth in 2018.
Before returning for his second stint at Husson in 2014, Quirion served as an assistant coach at Bangor High School in 2009 and 2010 followed by Lawrence High School from 2011-13.
Prior to Quirion's first stint at Husson in 2007, he served as an assistant coach at Messalonskee High School from 2002-06.
"I'm honored to return to Husson. The relationship that I have with the coaching staff, along with many of the current and former players at Husson, makes this opportunity special, stated Quirion. During his five years on the Eagle coaching staff, he has coached the program's top three all-time leading rushers in All-American John Smith and Husson Sports Hall of Famers, Justin Lindie and Julius "Juice" Williams, while helping Husson post a 37-16 record. He was also on the coaching staff that led Husson to the program's first-ever postseason appearance in 2008 and their first conference championship and NCAA Championship tournament berth in 2014.
Quirion played the 2000 season as a running back at Dean College. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Husson in 2007.
He is also a physical education teacher in the RSU 18 school district since 2013.
A native of Winslow, Maine, Quirion attended Winslow High School. Nate and his wife, Nicole, live in Winslow, Maine with their son, Dean, and daughter, Brynn.
