Husson University offers twenty-two varsity sports programs, and two spirit teams and is a member of the NCAA Division III and the North Atlantic Conference (NAC), Commonwealth Coast Football (CCF), Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), and New England Collegiate College (NECC). The Eagles compete among many top-ranked teams and long-time local rivals during the teams’ respective regular seasons and consistently advance into conference and NCAA tournament play.

Husson is dedicated to the NCAA DIII philosophy of making athletics an integral part of the educational experience and creating an opportunity for student-athletes to become well-rounded individuals. The College also places an emphasis on the primary tenets of the NAC: Excellence, Intergrity, Equilty, and Diversity.

The NAC includes institutions from Maine, New York and Vermont:  Maine Maritime Academy (Maine), Northern Vermont University-Johnson (Vt.), Northern Vermont University-Lyndon (Vt.), State University of New York at Canton (N.Y.) State University of New York at Delhi (N.Y.), Thomas College (Maine), University of Maine at Farmington (Maine) and University of Maine at Presque Isle (Maine) in addition to Husson University.

In all, fourteen Husson programs participate in the NAC: men’s and women’s cross country, men's golf, men’s and women’s soccer, women's volleyball and women's tennis in the fall; men’s and women’s basketball in the winter; and baseball, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men's and women's outdoor track & field and softball in the spring. Football is a member of the CCF, field hockey is an associate member of the NECC, and women's and men's swimming & diving completes in the GNAC as an associate member.

Currently, Husson's women's indoor track & field and men's indoor track & field teams, and women's golf do not have a conference affiliation.
