Women's Cross Country and Track & Field Programs Announce 2020-21 Recruiting Class

BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University women's cross country and women's indoor and outdoor track & field programs welcome eight incoming student-athletes to join the 2020-21 recruiting class. Most of these future Eagles ambitiously plan on competing as multi-sport athletes on more than one team throughout their career at Husson.

 

 

Quinn Young

HIGH SCHOOL - Gorham High School, Maine

EVENTS - Triple Jump 32'11",  Long Jump 15'5"

ACHIEVEMENTS - 1st in Triple Jump at 2020 Dartmouth Relays, unseeded. 3rd in Long Jump at 2019 Indoor SMAA. Four-year varsity letter winner. 

MAJOR - Criminal Justice

 

 

 

Mackenzie Lambert

HIGH SCHOOL - Bangor High School, Maine

EVENTS - High Jump 5', Long Jump: 16'9", 200M 27.33, 400M 1:01

ACHIEVEMENTS -

Two-time New England qualifier. First and Second Team All-PVC. 400M PVC Champion. Holds 4x200 Relay UMaine New Balance Field House facility record. Named to Class A Indoor State Championship Team.

HIGH SCHOOL - Greater Houlton Christian Academy (GHCA), Maine

EVENTS - 800M 2:47.75, 1600M 5:52.21, 3200M 13:31.47, 5K 20:39.26

ACHIEVEMENTS - Valedictorian, NHS member, Gold and Silver Presidential Education Awards, recognized by Houlton Rotary Club and merited ACSI Distinguished Christian High School for academics. 2016 Aroostook League Cross Country Champion and Aroostook League Scholar Athlete in 2020. State qualifier in cross country and track & field all four years.

ACHIEVEMENTS -

Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior Scholar Athlete. Three-time Cross Country State Champion Team Member. Three-time 4x800 Relay State Champion. Attended Outdoor Track & Field Nationals twice for relays.

ACHIEVEMENTS - Honor roll and high honor roll. KVAC First Team both sophomore and junior years in cross country. KVAC Second Team junior year in track & field.

ACHIEVEMENTS - Pentathlon qualifier and competitor. USA Gymnastics Level 9 National Qualifier. USA Gymnastics Level 10 State Qualifier. Four-year school honor roll.

EVENTS - 100M Hurdles 17.72, 300M Hurdles 56.48, Long Jump 14' 8", 100M 14.52, 55M Hurdles 9.70, High Jump 4' 6", Triple Jump 32' 11"

ACHIEVEMENTS -

National Honors Society, High Honors, PVC All-Academic Team two years. 3rd in PVC and school record holder in High Jump and Hurdles. Indoor PVC Champion and First Team All-Conference in Triple Jump. Second Team All-Conference in High Jump. Indoor track & field captain. 2019 outdoor track & field season:  3rd in PVC's in 100M Hurdle and State Runner -Up in 4x100 Relay.

ACHIEVEMENTS -

2020 Indoor 200M and 400M Class B State Champion and qualified for Indoor New England's in both events. Captain for both indoor and outdoor track & field teams. Leavitt Hall of Fame Award. Highest score in points for T&F twice. Junior Year: KVAC All-Conference Second Team (55M, 200M indoor) & (100M & 200M outdoor). Senior Year: KVAC All-Conference First Team. KVAC All-Academic. All-Region Team. MTCCCA All-State Team in 2020. Earned Honors all four years.
