  • NAC Cancels 2020 Spring Seasons

    WATERVILLE, Maine - The presidents and administrators of the NAC have closely monitored the rapidly developing situation with the COVID-19 virus. Based on the health and safety risks, as well as our responsibility as community leaders, and in following the recommendations of the NCAA as well as federal and state governmental and health agencies, the NAC has canceled all athletic activities including championships, effective immediately (March 17, 2020) and for the remainder of the spring 2020 season. This includes all athletic events for Husson University. 
  • Husson Issues Important Coronavirus Update

    BANGOR, Maine - Husson University has been closely monitoring the Coronavirus development and officially made the decision on March 13th to suspend all athletic activity, including practices and competitions, until the end of the day on Friday, April 3rd. At that time, the university will reevaluate the situation and make an appropriate decision on how to proceed.  The health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches, as well as institutional staff members, parents, and fans, is our main concern.

  • Four Eagles Garner All-New England Honors as Two Land a Spot on the Sportsmanship Team

    The New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships took place February 13-16, 2020 at the University of Rhode Island. The Husson University Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving programs had four student-athletes earn 2020 All-New England Honors, while seeing two student-athletes named to the 2020 All-Sportsmanship Team. Rounding out the awards for the Eagles, the women’s swim and dive squad was honored as the 2020 Steve Looke Team Sportsmanship Award recipient.

    BANGOR, Maine - First-year Bailey Donovan continues to impress, sweeping back-to-back Rookie of the Week honors from two associations. She earned Co-Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row from New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) and her seventh-straight and tenth overall Rookie of the Week spotlight from the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA). Fellow first-year, Scott Lewis, achieved his fifth Honor Roll recognition from the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) while DJ Bussey was selected to the MMBCWA Honor Roll for his first time this season.

    WATERVILLE, Maine - For the final time in their rookie campaigns, both Bailey Donovan and Scott Lewis were named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Week. This marks Donovan's tenth and final NAC Rookie of the Week of the 2019-20 season and Lewis' second.

    BANGOR, Maine  - Adding on to her slew of weekly accolades, Bailey Donovan stood out among all New England players this past week to be recognized as Co-Rookie of the Week by the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA). She also impressed the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) as she grabbed her sixth-straight and ninth overall Rookie of the Week honor. Another standout first-year basketball player for Husson, Scott Lewis was recognized yet again by the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) with a spot on the Honor Roll.

    BANGOR, Maine - After landing on the Honor Roll for the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) several times in his rookie campaign,  Scott Lewis achieved his first Rookie of the Week recognition. Teammate, Justice Kendall, was acknowdleged on the MMBCWA Honor Roll, respectively. For the women, Bailey Donovan swiped her fifth-straight and eighth overall Rookie of the Week honor from the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA).

    LYNDONVILLE, Vt. - The Husson men’s and women’s basketball games scheduled for Friday, February 7th at Northern Vermont University-Lyndon have moved to Sunday, February 9th due to a winter storm. The North Atlantic Conference doubleheader will tip-off with the women’s game at 12:00 p.m. and the men’s game following at 2:00 p.m.

    BANGOR, Maine - Earning her fourth-straight Rookie of the Week honor from the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA), Bailey Donovan achieved this weekly acknowledgment for the seventh time in her rookie campaign. THE MWBCA also recognized Emma Alley to the Honor Roll for her first time this season. Derek Collin on the Husson men's basketball team, was mentioned on the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) Honor Roll for the second time in his rookie season.

    NEW ORLEANS, La. - Both the Husson University women's and men's cross country teams were named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) 2019 NCAA Division III All-Academic Teams. The women achieved this spotlight for the eighth-straight season while the men earned a spot on the All-Academic Team for the fourth-consecutive year and fifth time overall.

    The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) is proud to announce that 177 student athletes representing twelve institutions and seven sports have been named to the Fall 2019 All-Academic Team. This marks the most student athletes to receive All-Academic Team honors since the fall of 2017.

    BANGOR, Maine - Three Eagles represented the Husson University basketball program among three different associations. Bailey Donovan achieved her sixth Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) Rookie of the Week honors while teammate Sydney Allen was recognized on the honor roll of both the MWBCA and the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA). For the men, Justice Kendall earned his first spotlight on the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) Honor Roll this season.

    CASTINE, Maine - The men's and women's swim meet at Maine Maritime Academy that was originally scheduled for Wednesday, January 29th has been moved to Tuesday, January 28th. The Mariners and Eagles will face off at 5:00 pm in Bok Pool.
  • Rookies Garner NEISDA Weekly Awards

    For the first time this season a Husson Diver has been named New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Diver of the Week. First-year diver Spencer Bernat earns his first career NEISDA nod, joined by classmate Andrew Cote who picks up his first Swimmer of the Week Honor. Rookie Ellie Clarke adds her second NEISDA Swimmer of the Week nomination of the season. Both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs picked up victories over Saint Joseph’s (Maine) on Saturday, before falling to the Norwich Cadets on Sunday.

For his second consecutive week and third this season, Scott Lewis was recognized on the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) Rookie Honor Roll.

    BANGOR, Maine - For the second time in her rookie campaign, Bailey Donovan swept Rookie of the Week honors for the North Atlantic Conference (NAC), New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA), and the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) following an impressive single week performance. Her teammate, Sydney Allen, was also recognized by the MWBCA for her shooting percentage on the court by being named to the Honor Roll. From the men's basketball squad, Scott Lewis earned a spot on the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) Rookie Honor Roll for the second time this season.

    BANGOR, Maine - For the first time in her career, sophomore Sydney Allen was named Co-Player of the Week by the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) following an impressive single game performance last week. Joining her in the weekly release from the MWBCA, first-year Bailey Donovan earned a spot on the Honor Roll while men's basketball sophomore Brett Cunningham also grabbed a spot on a weekly honor roll, but for the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA).
